Emily Atef

Emily Atef was born in Berlin to French and Iranian parents. She grew up in Los Angeles, France, and London before moving back to Berlin to study film directing at the DFFB Film Academy. Her films include: XX to XY Fighting to be Jake (documentary, 2002), Sundays (short, 2003), and Molly's Way (2005), her first feature film, which won a total of 11 International awards, including the Grand Jury Award at the Mar del Plata Film Festival in Argentina. After completing principal photography on her second feature film, The Stranger in Me, Emily co-wrote the script of her third feature at the Cinéfondation - La Résidence du Festival.

Nicole Gerhards – Producer

Nicole Gerhards has worked for numerous national and international film productions as a production assistant, production manager, unit production manager and producer. She studied theater and French in Paris as well as producing at the dffb (Deutsche Film and Fernsehakademie) in Berlin. During that time, she produced successful and award-winning films. Her graduation film “Charlotte” screened 2004 in the section Perspektive Deutsches Kino at the Berlin Film Festival and later in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes. In 2005 Nicole Gerhards founded NiKo Film in Berlin.

Hanneke van der Tas – Producer

Hanneke van der Tas was born in 1975 in Mexico. She grew up in the United Kingdom, Syria, The Netherlands, Germany, France, and the United States. She has a post-graduate law degree in media law from Harvard Law School and is admitted to the New York Bar and the Bareau de Paris. From 2003 to 2004 she studied European and International Film Production at the German-French Masterclass at La Fémis in Paris and the Filmakademie in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Hanneke van der Tas then worked for Lago Film in Berlin before becoming a partner and managing director of NiKo Film in 2007.
